Introducing our new logo!

According to The Random House College Dictionary, shield means “a person or
thing that protects.” We as reporters are charged with shielding or protecting one of the
most important aspects of our legal system: the record. Building on this definition,
OCRA is pleased to announce that we have adopted a new logo.
As long as you remain a current OCRA member, you are entitled to use the logo
on letterhead, business cards, etc.  We hope you like the new design and feel that it
accurately exemplifies our profession.

Just right-click on the logo and save to your computer.

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2010

The Oklahoma Supreme Court has approved a request from the State Board of Examiners of Certified Shorthand Reporters to revise and update the published rules applicable to Oklahoma CSRs.  Some of the major rule changes are as follows:
       *    Clarification of the provisions regarding certificate renewal and continuing education
       *    A switch to annual certificate renewal, instead of biennial renewal (beginning in 2011)  (no increase  in renewal fee amount)
       *    The same dates now apply to both continuing education and certificate renewal requirements
       *    Clarification of the examination requirements and scoring provisions
      *    A candidate who has successfully completed either of the two skills examinations may now retain the credit for that portion of the examination for two years

These new rules and the accompanying fee schedule will become effective on January 1, 2010.  You may find a .pdf version of them on the AOC’s Certified Shorthand Reporter forms page, by going to www.OSCN.net, then click on Legal Forms (see left column) > Administrative Office of the Courts > Certified Shorthand Reporters.
