DISCOVER STENO -- A TO Z THEORYOCRA continues to participate in NCRA's Discover Steno, a program to introduce participants to court reporting. OCRA was one of the first states in the nation to participate in this program that continues to gain much traction across the U.S. A to Z Theory is a FREE six- to eight-week introductory program designed to give participants a hands-on experience with court reporting to help them determine if this is the career they want to pursue. Thanks to donations from fellow court reporters, loaner steno machines will be available free of charge to participants. The groups are led by court reporters, making the program charges minimal, if anything, to participants, while getting firsthand knowledge of court reporting from working professionals. At the end of the program, participants will be encouraged to enroll in the school of their choice. Numerous programs have now been conducted in person across the state, and from time to time the program is offered online also. For more information, contact Melinda Wall, A to Z State Coordinator.
